For many paleo eaters, making the primal shift means saying goodbye to meals made outside our home kitchens. The prospect of navigating a restaurant menu when grains, legumes, dairy, processed oils and sugar are off limits can turn a relaxing night out into a total stress fest. Trust us, we know.
In our early paleo days, we were shocked to find that a Google search for “Seattle paleo restaurants” left us empty handed. We pretty much gave up on eating out, fearing we’d either be one of “those customers” with a laundry list of special requests, or we’d go home hungry.
Suddenly, the incredible Seattle food scene – which used to be one of our favorite things about living here – felt like an obstacle.
But, as we’ve learned, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can eat out in Seattle – and enjoy it! – on the paleo diet. You just have to know where to look and what to ask. That’s where we come in.
Each week, we’ll give you the lowdown on a restaurant that accommodates our paleo needs particularly well – or doesn’t!
We’ll tell you everything you need to know, from what’s on the menu, to how knowledgeable the staff is, so you can arrive prepared and leave satisfied… or avoid the place altogether. (See what our reviews include.)
